The Countess's Story
The Alexandrine Suite pays homage to a prominent figure in our local history. In 1792, Alexandrine de Sales fled Savoy in the midst of the Revolution, with only her baby and her harp as luggage , finding refuge in Italy with her cousins, the Cavours.
A few years later, under the name Luigia Soffietti , she managed to get close to Napoleon Bonaparte in Paris. Thanks to her intelligence and determination, she succeeded in restoring her family name and obtaining the restitution of property confiscated from Savoyard nobles.
It is in memory of this free-spirited, visionary woman, deeply attached to her heritage, that we have named this exceptional suite. A place in her image: elegant, intimate, and open to the beauty of the world , with its soothing view of the Italian gardens.
Staying in the Alexandrine Suite is a bit like walking in the footsteps of a discreet heroine , and experiencing a way of life imbued with history, refinement and soul.
