Tour de France 2020: a stage at Thorens-Glières

After a remarkable passage in Haute-Savoie in 2018, the Tour de France will return to the Massif des Bornes on 17 September 2020 for a 168 km stage between Méribel and La-Roche-sur-Foron.

The Château de Thorens in the heart of the Tour de France

After devouring the Col des Glières, 1433 metres high, the riders and the famous caravan will take the Thorens-Glières road to pass by the Château de Thorens, a remarkable historical treasure of the Haute-Savoie built in 1060.

Unfortunately, the peloton won't have time to discover the whole history of the de Sales family, who have owned the castle since 1602: the ascent of the Plateau des Glières will be the fourth and last real effort of this stage which will undoubtedly end with a spectacular sprint to La-Roche-sur-Foron, the finish town.

A little piece of Haute-Savoie

This 18th stage of the 2020 Tour de France between Savoie and Haute-Savoie is a perfect glimpse of the riches that our region has to offer: the snow-covered peaks of La Cluzaz, the picturesque charm of the village of Entremont...
